Job Description
You didn't leave a top 10 firm because you hated the work. You left because you were tired of being employee #47,283 in a machine where promotions move at glacial speed and your biggest contribution is hitting utilization targets.
But you probably miss the resources, the training infrastructure, the clear path up, the compensation structure.
It might sound like a tradeoff that has to be made, when leaving the "big players". But it doesn't have to be.
You could join a top 50 firm with the resources, training, and infrastructure you're used to.
A firm with real upward mobility without waiting behind 30 other managers. Somewhere that still allows for hybrid in Houston where no one's tracking your badge swipes.
What You'll Do
Manage a portfolio of tax clients—high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, and family offices
Lead and develop a team of seniors and supervisors through full tax engagements
You'll touch compliance—it's tax, after all—and you'll spend real time on planning and strategy work
Busy season: 55-60 hours per week, January through April
